Track and Field General Rules
NFHS rules are the overall rules for events unless specifically noted in these rules.
The host school will determine if a meet needs to be canceled, due to weather conditions, before and during competition.
Coaches meetings will start at 3:45pm, followed by field events starting at 4:00pm and running events as soon as coaches meeting is over and timing crew is ready. Host school may adjust times.
Host schools are expected to supply judges to the best of their ability.
Entries should be sent using Milesplit. Entries are due 48 hours before the meet.
Each school is allowed to have athletes enter 3 individual events plus 1 relay with only 6 representatives per school, per event. Max of 2 relays per school are allowed.
During the league final invitational, each school is allowed to have athletes enter 4 events with only 3 representatives per school, per event
Events Specifics:
Hurdles- 100m at 30”for girls, 110m at 33” for boys
Shot Put- 6 lbs. For girls, 4 kg for boys
Discus- 1 kg for girls/boys
Turbo Javelin- 400 g for girls/boys (thrown over the shoulder or upper part of the throwing arm and shall not be slung or hurled
Field Events will have 3 attempts with a warm up recommendation of 2 attempts
